1. How can I pay my recipient?
PayNow and card payments are available. However, dependent on the payment method(s) your recipient selects to make available for payment, either one or both options can be available.
2. Will I be charged a fee for this payment?
A CardUp fee is usually charged to process card payments. However, your collector may choose to absorb this fee depending on your payment arrangement.
The fee chargeable is dependent on the card you use
- Card type: Visa, Master, AMEX, UnionPay
- Country of issuance: Locally issued or International
Based on the above,
- Local cards are charged a fee of approx. 2.6%
- International cards are charged a fee of 3.3%
3. Why should I pay the CardUp fee?
If you are paying with a credit card, you stand to enjoy card benefits on your payment made.
4. Can I use a promo or referral code for this payment?
Unfortunately, promo or referral codes are not supported for guest payments.
5. How often will my card be charged?
Your card will only be charged once, upon successful payment submission
6. How can I set up a one-time guest payment to my recipient?
Once you are directed to the payment page, you may do so in 3 steps:
Step 1: Fill out the payment details - Optional if you are setting up a requested payment from your recipient
- This includes amount and payment reference (i.e. invoice, description of goods/services, etc)
Step 2: Fill out your details
- This includes your name, mobile no, and email address – This helps us recognise who is making the payment (required as per regulatory requirements).
Step 3: Select a payment method (i.e. PayNow/Card)
Step 4: Submit the payment
- Once your payment is submitted, both you and your recipient will receive a payment confirmation email shortly.
- Your recipient will receive your payment at their designated bank account within 1 to 3 business days dependent on the payment method selected. The payment will be reflected on your recipient’s bank statement with the unique payment reference entered/set when the payment was set up.
7. What can I do if my payment fails?
A payment could have failed due to:
- Insufficient funds on your card - Ensure to check your debit or credit card limit, or use another card.
- The card is declined - Contact your card issuer or bank for more details or use another card.

8. Can I update my card and personal details for the submitted payment?
Unfortunately, once your payment has been submitted, no card and details updates are supported as the charge is already being processed or processed. In the event, that you do require any updates, you can reach out to your recipient for a refund and arrange for another payment.
9. How will this payment reflect on my card statement?
Your CardUp payment will be reflected on your credit card statement as “CardUp.co” along with the name of your recipient e.g. CardUp.co-John Brown, CardUp.co-International School, etc.
If your payment type is “Condominium Fees”
Your CardUp payment will be reflected on your credit card statement as “CardUp.co-MCST” along with your four-digit MCST number e.g. CardUp.co-MCST 9999
If you are using an American Express Card
Your CardUp payment will be reflected on your credit card statement as your payee name e.g. John Brown, or if it is a condominium fee payment, it will be reflected as “MCST” along with your four-digit MCST number e.g. MCST 9999
10. How can I cancel this payment?
You may cancel your payment by reaching out to your recipient directly. In the event that the charge has been processed and paid out to your recipient, a refund (and a new payment arrangement if applicable) will be required between you and your recipient.
11. I am supposed to pay my recipient but got redirected to the CardUp platform. How is this platform related to my recipient?
Your recipient has partnered with CardUp to securely process all payments via credit card and PayNow. After completing your payment, CardUp will automatically notify the recipient and transfer the money to their designated bank account.
